A second modular thread?

We’re gonna need more VCAs

You can never almost have too many VCAs!

Hi all. Advice sought from those more knowledgable about what’s out there than me.

Here’s is my FX rack for processing beats from a Roland P-6 and a digital piano:

As you can see, I have an annoying 12HP gap that needs filling because OCD. I don’t need anything to convert from line level to modular because both Stardust and Mojave do this just fine. But I would like to add something or somethings. My current thoughts are another Prism (one low pass and the other high pass) or another Aurora because I only use my current one in alternative “normal” reverb mode, so maybe the other can be dedicated to its weird alien tones of the OG firmware.

But is that a good idea? I’ve been searching on Modular grid to give me extra FX options but nothing has stuck out. Qu-Bit Nautilus would be perfect but it’s 14 HP :frowning: So, what 12 HP module or combo of modules adding up to 12 HP would you go for?

(I have a 2HP NSE noise source that can be added alongside a 10HP FX/filter module)

(Also, my entire signal path is stereo!)

(Final also, I don’t want anything other than black)

Your Abacus is the weak link. Replace it with a Quadrax (black panel available), 14hp, or Delta-V, 10hp, and you have enough space for Nautilus, and for something mundane but terrifically useful, like 3xMIA.

It’s best to post links to MG rather than JPGs, so we can go look at sizes, names, etc. That picture wasn’t too bad, though.

Great advice, thanks. I feel dirty having the Abacus anyway. I will check out your recommendations

Also, since no trip to MG is complete without some fantasizing, copy your rack, replace Abacus with Falistri, and pop Nautilus in to exactly fill the space.

OMG, that could be perfect. Checking out videos of Falistri tonight to make sure. Cheers!

I think you have enough sound modules…

I would recommend This

12 HP.

Its an audio input module, Allthough it is only in mono the real reason you want to use this is because you can derive gate, trig and envelope from the incoming audio and 1v/o. So just by playing your synths into it you can derive all sorts of CV from the incoming audio to use with the rest of your rack.

In your case I would use a stackable cable from your incoming line audio and then send the processed CV to the rest of your rack.

I don’t like choosing favourites, but if I had to, Falistri would probably be my favourite Eurorack module. I just ordered a second one.

You have a lot of Modulation inputs but not many Modulation sources! Quadra, Ochd, Pamela’s new workout, NLC triple sloths, Mutable tides or Stages etc are popular options. See what fits your workflow and rack space

Hello! I’ve been into modular for 8 years now, so I sort of know what I’m after, but I’m building a live rig again, and I’m sort of stuck on the open 12hp in this case. I don’t own the multimod yet, and maybe that’s also not the best thing for live use? I will be my main studio case as well.
I plan to use alongside the push 3, and I’ll be using an oxi one for sequencing (hence the pipe in here)
It will be a mix of ambient, and electro/idm type stuff.
What do you think?
As always, Thanks in Advance.
