Instant buy as usual.
A funny thing is that you often make songs in D minor which I do as well. Probably because I like to improvise with one of my Hang drums that is in D aeolian. I’ll try to make a video one day with some of your awesome sounds.
I’ll look into that for sure. I already kinda ‘promised’ Substan to buy a lot (if not all) of his albums, but ATM I’m trying to complete my hardware lineup ASAP (because of dwindling economy) by saving like crazy, so just a bit of patience Substan
Impossible to review it all quickly, but I can already say there are megatons of range here. For evolving pads especially, much like the original soundpack, I think it will be hard to find something of equal depth. Really solid pack, and also worth mentioning that there are pre-mapped modwheel and aftertouch destinations (which is rare for these kinds of sound packs but deeply appreciated).
Great work @substan. Will give me continued joy just like the original does to this day.
Special shoutout to the insect crew as well.
Thank you all … I am very happy that you like it !!
of course, a bug has crept into the sound pack and a sound (SYNTENSION) was duplicated. For all those who have already downloaded the sound pack, here is the missing sound:
Digitales I is the best sound pack available for the DN1. It’s too soon to tell if Digitales II will be the best available for DN2, but it’s sure to be a strong contender.
There are five presets in the new sound pack that are updates on sounds in the old one, all identified with a “V2” in their name: Digitales EP, Spaceplug, Bugbase, FM Flute, and Bottleneck. [Edit: four are updates, but there are two versions of the new Bottleneck.]
Like @substan in the video, I am playing them using the Digitone Keys in external controller mode, but I’m also using the trig keys on the DN2, because so far, some sounds are better at full velocity and some are better played gently or with more variation.
I sadly sold mine in order to finance the DNII but I got recently a very cheap UNO Synth Pro that has the same 37-key Fatar TP/9S keybed with aftertouch to fill the gap :). I’ll probably get a Digitone Keys II if Elektron releases it one day.
thank you for your nice feedback … well summarized. The V2 sounds are by far the ones I used the most in my tracks and therefore updated for the Digitone II. Except bottleneck … it wasn’t on the first DigiTales but I just had to put a second version of it on the pack as well.
There are actually a few more sounds that are based on sounds from the first pack (deep sea) for example … but they are so far away from the original that I gave them their own name … like children
Even if the FM Tone engine has not changed, the new filters and FX routing make such a difference, it makes sense to revisit the earlier sound designs. Some time ago, I was swapping SRR for BRR in some of your presets.
