I have been trying to use Mix Paste mode to copy a hat onto a kick with no joy. My approach was to within track view copy the hat and then select the kick and hit paste having previously set trigs for each of them. What is correct wat to use Mix mode and is this even best way of merging 2 samples? Thx
I think a lot of us will need a better description of how you are using mix paste. The way I read this is that you are trying to do the operation somewhere other than in the sample editor.
In the meantime, a thing to consider is that the copied audio selection has to be of the same length or shorter than the audio it will be pasted on. If the copied audio selection is 500 samples long, and the audio that will be pasted on is 700 samples long, then the 500 sample needs to be pasted on to the 700 sample audio between 0 and 200. If it is pasted after 200 it will not work.
Secondly, while obvious, I’ll mention it anyway: one needs to select the audio to copy. That means that to copy an entire audio file, the entire audio needs to be selected in the editor, otherwise the only thing that will be copied is whatever tiny sample is at the cursor.
See manual, page 83-84.
As already mentioned, your post reads as if you are not actually using an AED function, but instead trying to paste one set of trigs over an other.
That wont work for merging samples. Trigs are not samples.
Perhaps re read the relevant section in the manual and go through it again.
Thank you so much. I now understand my mistakes
