Fast and organized sampling using sample banks

Hey Nauts!

I am wondering how your workflow looks like when sampling into the Digitakt .

I really want to make use of the sample banks in the DT, but I have noticing it makes the process very very slow. Maybe I have missed an easier way to do this.

Normally I separate different sounds into the banks,
A:Kicks, B:Hats, C:Snares etc.
I keep all my melodic content in sample bank H.

I also make a lot of sketches or songs in one project, because it feels unnecessary to fill upp the projects folder, and it is nice to build several songs when the sample banks are filled up with sounds.

When I record some synths , I need to name it, and not directly add it to a sample slot, because it automatically adds it into sample bank A.
So I need to go and hunt this sound in the recorded folder, add it into the preferred bank. The recorded folder also quickly get messy/filled up with sounds. That is also a reason to name it, so I can find it later.

When watching people sampling quickly into the DT, it seems like most people skip both naming and putting it into a different sample bank. That is very much quicker, but the organizing gets impossible, for me at least.

So the process I am finding myself doing is:
Record > Name it > Not adding it directly > Go into sample bank > Go into recorded folder > Find it > Add it.

Any workflow ideas? How are you all doing this? If not caring about putting it into another sample bank, what are you using sample banks for?

Personally I never even pay attention to the sample bank. I sample, use the auto naming functions, and let the DT2 save it where it wants. The quick capture aspect is more important to me when sampling on the device. If I need to organize things later, I’ll transfer them all to the computer and do it all there, then transfer back to the DT2.

I also separate samples types into the banks but yeah, it’s a hassle. They really need to give us the option to choose which bank to add newly saved samples into. All it would take is giving it the same FUNC+Y shortcut as when adding samples manually.
