I am using elektron gear for many years, but am very new to Overbridge. I heard it’s possible to record the individual tracks of the digitakt ii via overbridge inside my daw. I downloaded overbridge, loaded the plugin inside ableton, but does not seem to work. Any tips on what I have to do?
whenever i switch the INPUT FROM and OUTPUT TO in the midi port config settings to USB+MIDI or just USB, the sequences start lagging. This only happens when USB is selected, when it’s only midi it works perfectly fine. Anyone knows why this happens via USB?
Thanks in advance
I suppose lastly, not a biggie, but these one-off questions are often better handled in the larger threads on Digitakt II just because they’ve usually been answered one way or another even if it’s somewhat of a nightmare to scroll through five hundred posts that aren’t relevant
When I set up Overbridge in Ableton this is my workflow:
On Elektron device:
Set USB Config to Overbridge
In Ableton
Create new MIDI track
From Plug-Ins menu, load an instance of which ever Elektron device your using. In your case, Digitakt
Create a number of new audio Tracks
For each audio track, change audio input to desired channel from Overbridge
The device will sync automagically when in Overbridge mode, so no need to fiddle with any midi settings.
Also, I find that my system suffers if I use the Elektron device as the interface, while I’m using it in Overbridge mode, so I always use a separate interface.
One more small detail, always make sure your device is plugged in and turned on before opening Ableton.
