Hope you enjoy! any comments or questions are welcome
Absolutely digging this one! Sounds like you put quite some time and energy in your setup.
Couple of questions that come to mind:
-
Whats the Role of the Octatrack?
-
What is your Crossfader/Scene Setup & Concept? Is it persistent over the whole set or individual per Bank?
-
There is a midi controller on your left. I guess its a faderfox UC4. What do you control with it? Macro Mappings (MW, AT, BC, PB) for the Digitone?
-
How is your Audio Routing? Digis into the Octatrack?
-
Do you use any Outboard Effects? Any Compression happening after the Output of the Digis?
My favourite Parts:
Around 23 Minutes the Set gets pretty trippy with the FM Midrange twists
Around 33 Minutes
38 Minutes onwards
41,5 Minutes i could imagine going more subtle and minimal here, solid groove!
48:20 Minutes love the chords coming in
Keep up the work! One of the better Elektron Sets i´ve seen online. There is still room for improvement, especially in the structuring and buildups (if that is important to you)
Hey there, that sounds really good, Id have you playing at ours without hesitation for sure!
very danceable, well mixed sound, youre feeling it, youre having fun…thats how I imagine a solid live act. “critique”: you rock that fishnet shirt. I could never ever wear that under any circumstances without looking like a total fool, few could, youre made for wearing that thing.
some people just can.
kidding aside: keep it going, your set is immersive, its a journey, nothing screams HERE I AM OK PERCEIVE ME PLZ I AM FREAKING PRESENT, many songs do and I find it stressful…music relaxes my mind, not the opposite, plz
well done, I fear the sound system could have been a bit more…OOOOF!
argentina is quite a bit away from where I am unfortunately
Really groovy stuff! Love the vibe and the performance, thanks for sharing!
glad you’re liking it!
Octatrack works as a performance mixer - so FX, transitions, mostly no audio coming from it except from the ambient soundscape at the beginning.
I have a single bank, and a single pattern actually. Just some scenes I’ve designed for FX, as well as one scene for transitions.
Yeaps! UC4. I control vol. on tracks 1-4 on DN2 (I very recently moved from DN1 to DN2, that’s why only 4), one Macro per each, and the rest is just some Octatrack controls for quick access.
DN2 > DT2 > OT. Single stereo channel out to mixer. Yeap, sound guys love me hah, easy!
Not really - I would love to have some eventually, but at the same time I’m already doing too much… I always say, I feel like I make music to be performed by 1.5 people. Maybe one day! I would love to have an Eventide Space for example, tried one briefly and it’s quite amazing, super musical and creative to my ears.
I really appreciate the feedback! I’m always trying to improve and this helps
thanks a lot! I really appreciate it.
This is the best compliment I can get, as it’s usually what I want out of this kind of music… always happy when people perceive it this way.
Well I don’t live in Argentina currently, but in Berlin - so maybe we can make it happen!
Thanks for listening! I had a great time and the crowd was great, really nice vibes
Oh, I know a few hardware fellows (partially) from berlin, Julia, Hanna, AOpitz, JosefKunz, Steve from BMS…Ive been in contact with so many people from the scene
could very well happen some day then!
If you don’t mind, can you share their Instagram accounts via private message (if they have one, that is)? it would be nice to connect with other people playing hardware sets!
Sure, will send you a message!
