Yeah I just had this pointed out to me.
Damn that’s a bit sad…
having the same issue, the version supposed to be 1.8.11 but the download redirects to 1.8.10 which is old, and it doesn’t see my rytm
With me the real issue was having installed the new version of overbridge on my Mac mini, after upgrading the firmware with my macbook which still had the “old” overbridge transfer saw them immediately. It was weird because also sysex librarian saw none of my elektrons until i upgraded the firmware of all of them. And again, all was fine with my Macbook still on the previous version of OB. It seemed like 2.13 blocked all Elektrons with older firmware to even connect on usb-level.
ah damn, I already upgraded the both OB and Transfer, guess I’m stuck for now…
Yeah, feels like a solid warning wouldve been nice, upgrade devices before you upgrade OB to 2.13 otherwise you’re stuck.
I realized I had older OB version on my macbook so I used it to upgrade the OS and now it works, so yeah, definitely upgrade OS first OB second!
The track limitation is not that bad. With the mixer it is quite easy to set-up routing. For me, I’ll start with a separate channel for the kick, one for drums (2 to 8) and then a separate channel for the bottom row, which are often more random melodic bits.
Just upgraded Overbridge and then tried to update Syntakt, only to notice that my Windows computer doesn’t find my Elektron devices anymore at all!
That kinda sucks, since my whole setup is routed thru Overbridge.
yeah same on osx, if you update Overbridge before you update the firmware of your devices they won’t connect through usb anymore
Ah so more people are having the problem if they update OB/DT II first and then can’t update ST anymore …
I hope this but will soon be fixed. Hearing that Ableton won’t support all DT II tracks because of the way Ableton itself is built is a huge bummer. Any chance Elektron can get them to change that?
Otherwise really thankful Elektron gave us two updates at the same time instead of sitting on them so that they don’t overshadow each other.
It’s that time of the year again to mention OpenCore Legacy patcher(What is OpenCore? | OpenCore Legacy Patcher)
For all you people (including myself) with older Macs who want to run a more current OS to be able to run Live 12, the latest Overbridge etc. Works wonders
Thanks It works
34 channel audio WHILE you can play with the Digitakt is crazy … I suspect it is an interrupt festival Congrats!
Looks like a Crane of some sort.
Well at least Transfer works after recovery and I got my Syntakt updated, but Ableton didn’t recognize it. And now Ableton crashes at startup. It seems that after recovery there’s still new versions of VST plugins that doesn’t work.
Did you re-update overbridge back to 2.13? I can imagine the new firmware might not like old overbridge. Once the firmware is upgraded it all seems to work.
Whoop whoop!!
To resolve this, simply switch the USB CONFIG setting on the device from Overbridge to USB-MIDI mode temporarily, and Transfer will detect the Elektron device. The new version of Overbridge includes an updated Windows driver that isn’t compatible with units still configured for the old driver. After updating the device OS, Transfer will recognize the device in Overbridge mode again.
