Same for OSX?
You’ll need to switch to USB-MIDI mode for Transfer to detect the device, regardless of the system. This is always the first thing you should try if the device isn’t detected by Transfer. However, the device will also be detected in Overbridge mode when it has been updated to the latest OS and the new version of Overbridge is installed.
I upgraded(!) Overbridge to 2.13 and none of my devices were recognised through usb on my Mac mini. I had a Macbook with a previous version of Overbridge and everything worked fine so i could update all devices. After I had updated the firmware on my Digitone, Heat mk1, AR mk2 and Analog keys my Mac mini instantly recognised them and all seems fine. This is all on Sonoma 14.7.
It wasn’t just Transfer btw, also sysex librarian did not see the Elektrons on my Mac mini with OB 2.13 and previous firmware.
Theres also something off with Transfer btw, it says theres a new version despite being the latest version from elektron.se. The link that pops up on top points to a page not found(made a screenprint and pasted the wrong link in an earlier post).
yes it shows theres a new update…
i guess its a bug… ignore it?
the website went under a lot of tweaks recently… maybe its due to that.
Big thanks, this did the trick! ST update in progress !
Thats why its always best on a wednesday!
rule number 1 in dev… dont do it on fridays… it ruins everyones weekend (both users and devs… esp if theyre expected into the office to fix bugs on a sunday afternoon).
Still poor Patrik pulling an allnighter with half a week of office ahead
I think we should update device(s) first and then update Overbridge…that should be the correct way
Yes, and yes. But when you don’t its an issue.
Now everything seems to work just fine, huge thanks for the advice!
I didn’t notice at first that there’s firmware update to all Overbridge supported Elektron Devices, not just ST and DT2. So i switched all of them to USB MIDI mode so Transfrer recognized them and updated firmware to all of them and then re-installed OB 2.13 and now everything runs smoothly. Ableton seems to work too just as expected. Phew!
Now finally testing new ST updates, it seems to be lots of cool new features there!
Trying to install on a Windows 10 machine and it gets through most of it, then suddenly rolls back installation and says it failed. No other information.
That is absolutely fantastic. Being honest, I wasn’t too jazzed about OB for the DT2 because even with templates it’s a pain in the proverbial to setup and manage so many individual tracks. In a weird way, I’m pleased that Ableton’s limitations prodded them into this approach. Hope it gets added to other devices in future OB iterations…
Do you have an older version installed?
Animations on track pages do not work. Only in mixer.
yup. I’ll try and uninstall first.
EDIT: Didn’t work. Same error.
Anyone also encountering a latency issue since the update ? The reported latency doubled for me using the Syntakt (from 18.5 to 37ms, macbook pro M1, Bitwig).
youve got latest service pack installed ?
Congrats to the OB dev team. I bet they are taking a day off (maybe a month)
