Discourse on iOS: wrong history browsing

Anyone else noticing curious behaviour on iOS 17.5.1, Firefox private? I dive into a topic and then use the back button to get back to Latest, and it takes me to another topic I previously read, not where I expected to go. Wasn’t happening before the OS update.

happens to me on safari and other websites too, I think it’s safari issue, I think all browsers are safari based even firefox focus

Yeah, it’s all Webkit, I think. It’s not fatal, just annoying. Hopefully the next update fixes it.

I think apple should allow other engines soon, not sure if that’s a good thing or not but in the browsers realm I would love a real firefox and not just a safari skin, chromium browsers on the other hand… not for me, but I guess at least people will have options.

Very annoying. Still plaguing me on 17.6.1. @plragde, @alechko, you?

I’m still on 17.5.1 so same thing for me on many websites, I have a feeling that this is issue with ios Safari and the browsers History api being used to smoothly switch pages instead of fully reloading.

Still happening, but this is the only site I notice it on.

I’m having same thing on lines forum and other discourse forums (like TouchDesigner), afaik discourse uses ember js framework which uses the browser History API, I suspect that this is not working properly on ios safari

sometimes I also encounter same thing on reddit which also uses same method to smoothly redirect

I get similar history-related oddities on iOS. I often use iOS share as a means of bookmarking, and despite being halfway down a particular thread, I find the shared url is often ‘elektronauts.com/unread’. Don’t get the same issue on chrome on a macbook.

Still happens to me also on iOS (17.6.1) and Safari on discourse based forums.
