Hello, I’m trying to sync syntakt midi out to clock in on Microfreak, everytime I plug the cable in the MF freezes. I’m not sure where the issue lies but I’m trying to see if anyone else has similar issues. I already wrote to Arturia.
The Syntakt won’t send a click to sync via clock.
Try to connect MIDI OUT (ST) to MIDI IN (MF) instead.
The microfreak has its own dongle for midi on TRS, it uses a different format to most, so you need a type b converter dongle, the one that comes with the MF
Was this solved? I have a similar issue. The MF freezes using clock in. latest FW 5.0.0.2084
Both explanations are given in the only two replies above, what’s to solve ?
The only way to sync is via MIDI (Clock is an analog pulse input, not MIDI) and MF uses a ‘non-standard’ type B dongle - so you must have a TYPE B dongle, the arturia comes with two white ones
It does work !
Yes, that is correct. If you use MIDI.
I send Clock from Moog Labyrinth into Clock in on MF.
Then you would want to tell the MF to look for tempo via that source, otherwise it would be derived from internal or looking for external midi perhaps … unsure if it has an ‘auto’ option or even whether the analog pulse input has a minimum rise time to trigger it
Some clock inputs are specific on details/polarity and in a device like the MF it may not be scoped to handle broad voltage ranges … I’d be starting with volca style clock pulses on a device of that nature
Presumably the clock I/o specs are listed by arturia in the manual
