Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with using the Octatrack and Niftycase together to link the OT with modular? It’s reading the MIDI coming in but it’s very sporadic, using the sequencer is a no go basically and it doesn’t trigger the gate.
Please help if you can, I would love to use the OT sequencer and connect this potentially great combination.

Perhaps it’s the midi note off problem of the Octatrack. (Don’t tell me there is no problem with that, I’ve been through this…)
Today i have job till vampires rise, but tomorrow i will have a look as I own both.
edit: sequenzing from computer via usb or din midi from computer or another box works?

Well, can’t exactly call it an Octatrack problem when Elektron did everything according to midi specs, but there is gear that doesn’t have both possible ways of note off behaviour implemented. Then it’s more an manufacturer XYZ problem.
On the other hand, I’ve read of several problems with the midi cv converter in the Niftycase, but I think they solved them with an update. IIRC it was specifically with CV2/Gate2 and something with clock and USB.
The firmware isn’t on their website, though. They only say if you bought it recently, you most likely have the latest, but if you’re experiencing problems, contact them…
Do gates register correctly when you set very very short note lengths in the Octatrack? I had that behaviour with a midi to cv converter some time ago.
So I found that the firmware update had solved it for others, and they were right!!

Also, there is the midi note off problem (of course!) however once you bring the length under 1/8 it stops! big fan of that

I’ve just bought a niftycase and I’m having the same issue Wwith the Octatrack.
Cre8udio website says if I recently bought the case it should be on its latest firmware but the issue persists, need to check it by myself. I sent a support ticket a week ago and still got no reply from them. I am really very dissapointed with all this, thinking on returning the product as i’m still within the 14 days return window.
It works perfectly from the ARTURIA keystep and my Doepfer a-190-3 MIDI to CV.
I’m so pissed off mate…!!
