I usually just stop recording by mashing the stop button on the sequencer…Which I guess is a bad habit if I ever wanna do all of this stuff live, but for my purposes it’s fine.
I just tested and could stop a one-shot recording with one press of track+rec, using one2 mode…
Qrec quantizes recording. Setting to say 32 quantizes record start/stop to 32 steps, every 2 sequencer pages. You can set it up to 256 or you can set it to “plen” which will make it start or stop when your current pattern cycle is over…
Keeping it on plen, all you do is press track+rec and that track recorder will start to record on the next pattern cycle. Press track+rec again during the last pattern cycle of your recording and the recording will fininsh at the end of that pattern cycle.
For this to work you want rlen:max and trig:one2 in record setup 1.
Now you can test!
What OS?
Now you can upgrade to test OT TRC!
I tried again, I confirm I have to press twice to stop a one short recording, in grid recording mode or track mode.
1.30B, MKI.
I confirmed it to a MKII owner a few months ago, so maybe it’s a 1.30X related bug. Anyone else can confirm?
I’m still on 1.25H, works…
with MKII 1.40A, I can’t stop a one shot recording with any combo mentioned above when RLEN is set to MAX. I have to Track + STOP to stop the track, which also stops recording. But I dislike this method since it disrupts a live playback. Any tips?

if you hold the recorder trig and select one specific input (e.g. CD lit in red) then you can press that record button once to stop recording. This is what I find on 1.40B anyway, it works as I expected.
However when you have two inputs selected (AB and CD lit in red) you have to press any one of the record buttons twice to stop that recording! This seems so weird and I’m dying to understand it.
