I can’t see this happening in all honesty. Both Rytm and Digitakt are billed as drum computers. And most drums just sound better and punchier in mono (with reverb/delay for creating stereo space for some of the higher frequency elements). Elektron could easily have made either of those devices stereo if they wanted to, but they decided against it - probably for the reasons mentioned above. It’s not about fear of cannibalising Octatrack sales or whatever imo.
Thanks, been a lurker for 2 years now, decided I might as well chime in this time.

Ok, let’s say you don’t need stereo sampling and time stretching for drums, but then you surely do need slicing for drum breaks. The pads on the Rytm would be so perfect for this because you can select slices and set steps at the same time. Also, increase the number of pads to 16 with 16 voices while you’re at it.
Looking at it like that, it seems to be a trend, but they’re not going to give up their raison d’etre (the Elektron sequencer) and the Models seem to be one of the most compact ways of getting that into a box that’s still easy to operate. But seeing as the Analog behemoths just got updated, they’re not giving up on the higher end of the market anytime soon. A new big box in 2021 is my prediction.
Yes, 6 voices, as in the models range, seems a bit limiting, even taking into account sample/preset locking. But 8 voices would mean using something other than the models enclosure. I think.
Anyway, if all those modelling algorithms did happen to turn up in a models enclosure, I’d definitely want 2 LFOs … that can’t be too hard to do surely, with double-click or long press for the second LFO ?
Yes. It was a weird one. Ofc, the first 500 Monomachines had this keyboard so it’s a blast from the past featuring the original unit from 2003. But why tease it now if they’re not preparing something along these lines very soon? So maybe we will see the 20th anniversary editions? (2021 is the 20th year since Machinedrum). Buuuut, the marketing team have been recycling stuff of late so it’s hard to tell
Edit: Also, it’s a 2001 reference. Maybe, just maybe I’m right about 20th Anniversary boxes??? Or one box: Monomachine and Machinedrum in one special edition unit?
