Recording with your Analog Four - What is your method?

When you’re recording your Analog Four (or other synths with multiple individual outputs) do you run all of your Tracks out of an individual output and record in one pass, or are you MIDI syncing to your DAW and recording stereo outputs of each Track on its own (with the other Tracks muted)?

I record everything over Overbridge to Live as separate tracks, unless I’m running a single track out for processing in which case I run that one track into the processor and then usually into the inputs of my Digitakt for direct recording over Overbridge, or back into the A4 if I want to use it as a filter bank, and then recorded over Overbridge.

I record one track at a time from the main analog outputs only… to my ears my Volt interface converters are considerably better than the A4 internal ones connecting thru Overbridge. I do have OB vsts opened for all three of my Elektrons for editing and patch librarians however, and have no problem recording digital signals (like the DN or ST) thru OB as needed.

That’s interesting to hear, I’ll have to experiment because I just added a Motu M4 making it much easier to try.

I use 1010 BlueBox to record individual tracks (as I only record live performances - and do not arrange anything in a DAW).

It’s also a good solution, for me when I am working with the MD or MNM without any Overbridge functionalities.

I use either OB2 or the indiouts. The only context where I’d be recording straight to 2-track would be if its a live take straight to the R2R
