For DN II only?

Thanks also an interesting approach…want to use the firmware → buy the device for that reason

If you mean

Pattern chains skipped the first pattern and song mode skipped the first row if the sequencer was running when the chain/song started.

then yes.

On DT2 it just doesn’t delete overlapping notes.

it’s in the digitakt list of changes. also ricky mentions in the video that this is possible but doesn’t show it…

hm i don’t get it. so if i have a note on step 2 (1 step length) and live record a longer note starting on step 1 for like 3 steps length, what happens?

or vice versa, i have a note on step 2 for 3 steps length and record a longer note starting on step 1 for 3 steps length, will it just create a new trig on step 3?

Track swap seems like such a minor thing but I suspect lots of people will be hugely grateful for it.

Love this company. Happy with my Digitakt I for now but tempted to one day get both of these machines.

The step 2 trig will remain, but it will of course stop the step 1 sound since DT2 is still monophonic. If LIVE REC OVERDUB is not on, step 2 trig would be removed.

Beat me to it!

Thanks Elektron, there’s lots of things hidden in there that are secretly huge (like overdubbing)! Track swap comes just at the right time when I need to re-arrange a lot of my templates. Comb+ means we can now make pianos on DT. And general parity between both devices makes me really optimistic for the future.

Plus, giving us multitracking for DN II before OB is ready is really cool fan service. Funny how this was discussed in depth in the DN II thread yesterday.
