Hello, I’m new here and have some Question and found some older conversations….
I work with A4 MK2 or AR MK 2 and the Connection is via Overbridge in Ableton Live.
Sent MIDI works and trigger sounds on the devices,
But I cannot record into the internal sequencer
The Midi Settings are on both on Receive Note , Live Recording and USB+Midi (in)
In Ableton i sent the notes to the Elektrons and their receive the notes , I can hear the sounds , all fine .
But I didn’t found a solution for record it in the internal sequencer. I thought, that via Live Recording Mode it’s possible to sent midi ti the internal Sequencer to record them for further manipulation …
Can anyone help me ???

It works without Overbridge, so yes, it is possible to do that. All you should have to do is to create a midi track in Live, set midi output to the port of the A4 or AR and set the channel to the track you want to record into.
If you now have live recording active in the Elektron sequencer and play the midi clip from Live, it should record that.
In Overbrige mode, midi input might get handled differently, but I’d still think it should record midi.
Maybe not via usb, but via 5 pin midi. It should.

Yeah, I just thought it might work over 5 pin midi, but I just checked it and yeah, as soon as I load the OB plugin into a midi track in Live, the sequencer does not live record midi notes. Not from USB midi and not from 5 pin midi.
But when I checked the last setting under Port Config “Live Rec On TRK CH” it does!
So seems we just have to activate this setting and it works. Can you check if this works for you? Works with USB and 5 Pin midi. Works with Overbridge sync set to “no sync”, “clock” and “Clock + Transport”.

Everything from Ableton to the Elektrons works fine but no way to record live the incoming midi notes - I can hear anything fine but no way to record it in the internal sequencer - midi is set on receive notes and live recording
Maybe with midi Cable but not from the daw then the plugin is set to Overbridge
Worked for me. But like I said, I had to check "Live Rec On TRK CH” under port config. Then it works with USB midi and 5 pin midi. If that isn’t active, it probably uses the autochannel which I didn’t test, yesterday, but we need all the individual track channels with OB anyway.
Now I wonder why it doesn’t work for you…

Didn’t record audio, but you can see the midi notes are getting recorded into the sequencer.
