Digitone II + Tracker Mini + iPad?

Hey, guys. Still very new to all of this, and this may be a long one. I tried hooking up my Digitone II to my iPad with the intention of being able to use apps like AUM to add instruments, plugins, sampling, etc to all that the DNII offers. I soon learned that even using an audio interface and powered hub, it was impossible to have 2 usb “instruments” show up on the iPad.

The last thing to be powered on or connected to the chain was the only thing the iPad would recognize. I had been trying to add a microphone via the audio interface. Apparently, this is because currently iOS/iPadOS can’t do aggregate devices, like macOS can.

Now, there’s a lot of stuff going off in my brain around this, so bear with me. I’m going to go off on a tangent, but it’s all connected. If I just wanted to add sampling, the most logical choice would seem to be the DTII. My two issues with the DT II are price (I know it’s worth it), and portability (as portable as DNII). My issue with elektron boxes in general is the lack of an overbridge equivalent for iPads.

Not everyone wants to be sat at a desk, and not everyone wants/needs a laptop. The idea of portability led me down the path of portable samplers. After a bunch of research, I came upon two devices that are much more than just samplers, the polyend tracker mini and the m8.

Both are kind of overkill for the main purpose of what I’m after, a sampler to add functionality to the DNII, but in that I found an interesting feature only 1 of them had.

The tracker mini has the ability to show stereo pairs of its tracks inside of iPadOS! Now here’s where my lack of knowledge comes in, and I hope some of you vets can help me understand what is and isn’t possible.

Do you think it would be possible to “pass through” some of the DNII’s individual tracks to the tracker mini, and then into the iPad. In addition, would it be possible for the DNII to sequence/control samples on the tracker mini? Lastly, would the DNII be able to sequence/control instruments/plugins on the iPad in this chain?

BTW, why with all the stuff available on iPads, does elektron not see a need to get their boxes to play with iPadOS via overbridge or similar? I can’t be the only one who thinks this could be useful, right? Anyway, thanks for reading. If nothing else, it let me type out what was going through my mind.
