I’m about to buy the OT as a additional sampler to my set-up. Currently I have a 404 mk ii, which I love - but it has it flaws against the OT.
On the OT, when you have your start and end point selected - can you then move your “selection” around the sample? Let say you select a small bit, can you when move that around. I work a lot with fieldrecordings, and that feature is lovely to find odd loops. You can’t do that on the 404 and I really miss that feature. (Hope it makes sense. Hehe)
Are you talking about something like using a random LFO pointed at the sample start parameter to randomly change the start point when triggered within the selected sample? Or am I not understanding your question correctly? I know 404mkii does not seem to have LFOs so that would be my first interpretation.
Yes. You can theres a few ways to do it.
As is the case with almost everything on the OT.
You could:
Do it in the AED
Set an amp env then use start parameter to scroll around the sample as you please, set this to the fader and it will feel nice.
Use LFOs
Use paramter locks
Use slide trigs.
