Digitakt 2 no audio signal after Sampling

Hello friends,

I’ve encountered a strange issue. The sound completely cuts out after sampling on the Digitakt 2, and the only way to restore it is by rebooting the device.

I’ve tried sampling via USB from my phone as well as using inputs 1-2, but regardless of the method, as soon as I load the sample onto a track, the sound disappears. I know this was a known issue in firmware version 1.03, and it was supposedly fixed in 1.03A. My device is currently running firmware 1.03A, but unfortunately, the problem persists—the sound still drops out just like before, making it impossible to fully use the device.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

upd: Additionally, sampling external synthesizers or vinyl also crashes audio playback.

Contact Elektron support and explain to them ? If it really wasn’t fixed in 1.03A they need to know.

That’s a good thought. I’ve already sent them a request. Here, I’m looking for others who have encountered the same issue on firmware 1.03A.

I came across it as well and have noticed it happening when loading new recorded samples on to track 9.

In my case, selecting a track doesn’t make any difference at all. I’ve tried various track numbers, and it always results in a crash.

Looks like someone else with the same issue.

This just happened to me yesterday, just when I had a good groove going, man was I made.

It has happened intermittently to me. Don’t know if associated with a certain track but I will now keep my eye on this. Very frustrating. All other functionality appears to keep working.

Experimentally I found out that it happens when you load samples on tracks 9-16

I have a similar but maybe separate issue going on. When I save a sample the audio stops and a loud sine tone plays on the left channel. Nothing I’ve found fixes it other than rebooting. Can still save and assign it to any track, just the audio stops and is replaced by the annoying loud tone on the left channel.
Now that I think about it, I think this only cropped up once I put it into Overbridge mode. Will have to check later if that is the cause.

Sounds suspiciously like code left over from DT1 when those were dedicated midi tracks.

I have experienced this as well and only on Overbridge

Yeah I stuck at update 1.02 because I don’t use overbridge and no problems for me.

Same here, same reason.

I really hope they fix this as part of the next firmware.

so wait are people using an older version of the firmware bc the latest one (released five months ago) is too buggy?

Main reason for me is I had no need for overbridge so I simply didn’t bother to upgrade. It transpires, with this particular bug, that was a good decision.

As I understand it the only change from 1.02 to 1.03 was adding overbridge.

I don’t use overbridge so I stuck at 1.02 and my DT2 does not crash after sampling.

I’m running 1.03A and it fixed the crash after sampling for me. No recurrence since the upgrade.

Turns out i wasn’t upgraded to 1.03a. I though I was because there was an “A” on the left side of the startup screen and the 1.03 on the right. I updated firmware just to make sure and 1.03a showed up in the bottom right. Haven’t had a problem since.

I know you’re not the only one to have made that mistake
