I’ve been thinking about using 4 mono inputs, rather than stereo A/B, in order to separate the kick and the bass on their own channels, because there’s a lot of instances I don’t want the kick or bass to be part of the efx i’m throwing on the rest of the signal. Anyone else doing something like that?
This was nice. Ended up watching the whole thing to my surprise, as I don’t have an OT.
Experimenting with mono ins and 4 mono outs atm and enjoying it
For a little while, I had my DT going into A/B, my Sub37 into C and my Yamaha RefaceCP in D. Three thru tracks. It worked great until I decided to expand to be able to sample other things. I was getting tired of patching and repatching for sampling and didn’t want to stop my whole workflow just to do this.
I ended up leaving the DT in A/B, and I send all my other gear into a small mixer that’s outputs go into C/D now. This helped me work faster and I think better, but of course now I’m hunting for a slightly better mixer with a couple more robust aux options.
Why did I never think of setting Octa as a send effect from a mixer??
To the point Ricky and Matt made yesterday, that’s the beauty of the OT. It can be ANYTHING to ANYONE. It’s why it’s the best.
What did Ricky call it, the swiss army knife from Sweden or something like that?
I think he said “Swedish Army Knife”, because I remember thinking “hey, that’s not what’s it’s cal… Ah, I see what you did there”
