MIDI retrig on Digitone?

Is there a way to do retrigs on MIDI tracks on Digitone? I use this on my M:C all the time …

I am pretty sure this is not possible currently, as there is no page 2 for the trig button where the retrig option is when in midi mode. Also without access to the sound engine itself it seems like it would be hard to control a retrig via midi.

Since no one is responding I am assuming that’s the case.

Thank you!

My conundrum is that I have a Digitone and a Model:Cycles. DN is missing MIDI features the M:C has, M:C is missing MIDI features DN has. Frustrating!

I have never used a model cycles, If it can midi retrig i wonder why dn2 doesnt have it. I assumed it wouldnt work very well because of the nature of it, but clearly if MC can do it 6 years ago, digitone 2 should be able to, weird.

That’s also news to me and quite baffling. It’s one of the very few things missing from the digis and limits them severely as MIDI sequencers for drums.

It is now at the top of my list for requested features, I always just thought it wasn’t possible, but I had an oxi one and that did retrigs, so clearly
A. Im an idiot
B. The digi* 2 devices should have it, since they were released in 2024 and there’s no excuse for that omission.

I think it’s possible with dn II with the note edit. You can add 16 notes per step then microtime each note independantly

Oh thats a cool trick, sort of a workaround, but a cool one. It should have midi retrig on the trig button page 2 like all the other machines. If the Oxi One (that i sold to get the dn2) can do it, the dn2 should also.

Thank you for the tip, going to experiment now
