AR os 1.72 problems already. I don’t want to jump the gun but I downloaded the now os last night and then went to bed. This morning started messing with some patterns I’d made recently saved kits and everything in the usual manner, switch off. Turn the AR2 back on and can’t find what I’d been working for. don’t recognise what I’m hearing as anything like what I’ve just been working on. Scratching my head wondering where it has gone. Also projects taking a really long time to load and sounds not loading correctly or lingering from a previous state.
I have upgraded and messed up with patterns and kits last night and this morning all is good
No issues here
BTW: The manual is still the old one for FW 1.71
Edit: Syntakt manual has already been updated to 1.30B
I envy you, guys I own A4 MK2 and we’ve got no normal updates for years already!
If I’ll need to backup my projects before updating FW then I’ll do it for sure.
I’ve just been trying to set a retrig on a step and it doesn’t retrig. I’ve done it many times in the past, but I couldn’t get it to work today. I’ve been consulting the manual, reading every sentence over more than once and I’m either missing something or something has change with the software or the hardware.
Anyone have a clue?
Maybe the amp enveloppe sets to infinite decay ? In some cases, it broke some retrigs I program.
I didn’t own AR before 1.72 firmware but I’ve experienced two weird things. A scene which wasn’t correctly saved (try many things but there is always two parameters which aren’t saved correctly). Also other night I was working on a pattern with a dedicated kit, when I restarted the machine after, the kit was the one I copied to start working with, not the modified one I achieved.
I have had this happen where on restart it seems to have reverted to its earlier state. Try reloading the project and you should get what you last saved.
Ok, it’s very smiliar to what I experienced. It was like the device saved the state before the last save.
Infinite decay wouldn’t be appropriate for percussive drum sounds like a snare.
Anyone else?
Except the machines have their own decay enveloppe. So you can perfectly have one shot percussive sounds with amp decay set to infinite. Thank you for not being pedantic in the future, maybe I’m wrong but I’m taking time for trying to help you.
Of course you can have percussive sounds with infinite amp decay.
The issue I was having was about retrigs. I’ve done retrigs many times in the past and I never set an envelope decay to infinite. Misdirection is not what looking for here. I was hoping to connect with someone that has some idea about why the retrigs are not working.
I would have tried to help you. But now I’m just paralyzed. What if I don’t provide the perfect solution straight away ? No way, I’m not taking that risk.
By defaut, amp decay is always set on infinite on every AR tracks.
And I stop here, honestly you shouldn’t ask help on a forum wich such a pedantic tone when you clearly don’t know well the behavior of the machine.
BRUTAL!! I worked so hard to have a full kit with the parameters I liked and saved it over the previous kit while renaming it. I was so happy to have my full 909 perfect kit and played around before turning it off. I just booted it again 4 hours later and it’s the older saved kit. It’s like the new save with new name didnt happen at all. All patterns and everything is from the older save.
Did you save over a previous kit? Maybe that’s the bug
As someone above suggested, try reloading the the project.
This behaviour sometimes happens on the Syntakt too
Indeed, it happens always with Syntakt. Reloading the Project works every time also fortunately. Haven’t upgraded my AR though.
Definitely didnt work
Oh, that’s a shame
I’m really not a RYTM guy and never owned one but I seem to remember that the kit and the project need to be saved separately and in that order, does that sound correct? Or is that how you did it, and it just up and disappeared?
I do recall reading something similar, but I thought that another user mentioned the specific saving protocol was important when it came to saving / storing kits. Maybe I’m wrong, and probably doesn’t help with the issue at hand, but I’m sure you want to get to the bottom of it either way.
Shame that it happened though, I do know what it’s like to lose a bunch of work and sorry for your loss on that one.
