Me too, but if I wouldn’t know I’d think your tracks were published on Tresor label. Sound, nice rumble, typical arrangement, not too much distraction with effects and complicated elements, all good stuff! You know what you’re doing.
So many kind words, I really do my best to not counter Thank you
I would agree on that I know what Im doing. That doesnt necessarily make my music good or any better than someone elses, I guess…but cool if you like it!
slight changes to the arrangement and:
I just did like 10 minutes of repainting some automations and bringing in the ride earlier, it felt a bit too late.
Went for like -10 LUFS integr. with the loudest peak just barely hitting the ableton stock limiter. Master chain is a glue compressor and said stock limiter. No science at all.
I left that “funny” collision/phasing of hat and percs on purpose. I kind of f***s with you a bit. It did with me at least.
So Im using a few sinee samples, you can distinguish the samples made my Björn Torwellen, insane amounts of unnecessary high end. Hihats exceeding 40 kHz and bs like that.
The Riemann/Florian Meindl stuff I came across so far is another world. Music and quality wise.
I find myself cleaning up every sinee sample in one way or another before its usable.
One way to clean up any loop is this:
as an lfo in 16th notes modulating volume.
I revisited this:
btw
Made it a bit more…fresh. And loud. Just level and corresponding compression adjustments mostly. What do you guys think? Better? Worse? OH…I replaced the file…I didnt think it through.
Old one:
Loudness makes it hard to compare…anyways.
well i’m going to have to certify “solide” as a banger
My first certified one, I guess
thank you!
So Im making this:
dont worry, ride is just a Platzhalter because I ask myself if I want a ride. or more hats. or something else.
lowend still very thicc
stays thick:
“progression” is just…a semitone back and forth. so 100 cent
K, its a bit more complex:
Syn1: OSC1 playing F, OSC2 detuned by -4 and theres fm going on with slight detune and LOOOOONG modulation of fm amount…main progression is an automation transposing OSC2 from -4 to -5, timing is shifting a bit towards the end.
Syn2: is repeating 2nd and minor 3rd and then theres an erosion sine on top of all that…tuned and modulated slowly. Detune and chorus. But thats almost it! Phase shifting with auto filters…
Haha, first person ever spent 2 € to buy a piece of my music at bandcamp https://mamaanalog.bandcamp.com/
Ive been TOP50 trending techno track on soundcloud multiple times.
Time for a management and an assistant, I made close to 1,20 € as AN ARTIST NOW SKY IS THE LIMIT
I need a nice car first.
Theres the famous 8 bar loop!
I transformed that loop very much.
Whats left of it is that perc loop fading in with the clap at 0:45
So this is:
8 bars of just pure drum bus, 8 bars drum bus with juicy bassline…and then full loop with lead being rhythmically perculiar so I have or want to sometimes (re)establish the one by a little highpass filter at the end of 16 or 32 bars so you refeel the actual one.
Its tricky but not too complicated.
Everything is a laid back a bit or a bit more sometimes.
This is now the main loop. I got rid if that “melody” above, I did some sound design to have it sound fresh and all that.
This is about to come into existence.
Its getting somewhere!
I seem to be unable to get along without some kind of snare or clap. Some regard claps on 2 and 4 as cheesy but idgaf, I try to not make them extra cheesy at least.
That tiny artifact like bleep dead center is part of that ongoing synth playing D all the time. I didnt explore it further, but its an ableton preset for wavetable “basic sync bass”, if you care to explore. I modulate the macros with two seperate lfos pretty much randomly but slooooow and not that intense.
Drone is also intensely modulated, you can sometimes grasp it but it tends to hide behind hats n shit
first time you ever hear a 303 in one of my music things… but its easy to use something that always works. I like it though Its groovy and works well with the mix.
You probably dont expect the so called drop to hit you like a CHOOCHOO train but it does
its techno but also disco kind of. the slow “wah wah”-like lowpass modulating the lead synth probably reminds me of some disco music deep inside my head
stuff just needs to be fast enough it seems
I tend to spend the whole weekend making music…so…I like this bit!
