Some areas of the UI are such a big mess. The manual too. Somehow, none of this fits in with the high aesthetic standards that I have always associated with TE. And that even with such an expensive flagship model. But no matter, using the OP-XY is mostly fun.
A few of the aux tracks seem to have redundant pages.
Does brain’s LFO not affect its params? It does on the tape track (super fun and wonky)
Im not sure if this is the best place for this, but this is a track i composed on the OP-XY, multi-track recorded out to OP1-Field Tape then ‘performed’/live mixed it from OP1-F to computer for final mix. Id love any honest critique / feedback!

New album coming out March 31!
Nothing new here then .
so it usually takes me a lot of time to bust out a few tracks that i like, but after just a couple of months i made an album straight outta the op-xy (with final stereo tracks mastered by a friend). not masterful by any means but here’s a link in case it inspires anybody to do the same: Stream Pocket Spell | Listen to Determination System playlist online for free on SoundCloud
Yup. The sample folder management is just bonkers. For a device with three sampling engines! And the nano fonts are self-inflicted poor UI design choice. But the XY is a unique device. Just wished it wasn’t limited by silly UI design.
Decksaver for the XY is coming soon. Or so
This will be my first Decksaver. I actually find these plastic parts ugly and overpriced. But I’m afraid the XY is just as sensitive to dust as a computer keyboard.
I couldn’t wait and just modified one for the OG OP-1.
Ha, go figure, i just spent an hour this weekend sanding down my OP-1F deck saver so i could take it with me on a trip
Dang how did you modify yours? I just bought one yesterday and it doesn’t fit flush on the unit! I might return it and wait for the one made specifically for the Opxy.
This is how I shaved mine down, though I cleaned it up a bit afterwords to make it looks nicer. I also cut away the side where the connectors are so I can leave cables plugged in while I have the deck saver on.
In case you avoid the other thread, just wanted to share these:
Keys folder is mostly pianos, Rhodes, and Wurlitzers. Drums folder includes 606/707/808/909/CR78/8000, Minipops, etc…
Again, HIGHLY recommend loading only a few at a time. Mine has somehow been stable lately, but I don’t want them crashing yours. Lemme know if any presets are missing. Just making these in between grading papers. Enjoy!
I finally decided to take the plunge and just received my new XY! Everything looks good so far, but I was wondering how I should test the pitch bend button.
If you go into the calibration for the pitch bend you should be able to see if it is working or not. Basically if you see constant jitter and are unable to complete a calibration it’s no good. Seems like that issue is popping up a lot less though.
10.2.9 update is out, and it’s a biggie!

Drum key copy and paste is what we were all talking about last week. I do wonder if they monitor this thread This should make some form of sample chopping/slicing a bit easier now. Just copy a sample across keys and adjust start point for each.
Here is hoping we can get to a place soon where bug fixes are less needed and they can start adding features - especially sampling features.
