Looks like a chord sequencer or groovebox.
Something like a “Chord suggestion” app in a box? Not going to lie, it looks nice. I like the design. But I don’t think i neee one.
I saw a when it was uploaded, and was googling WTF was this. It looks cool but it seems Scaler on the iPad can do the same and more
Not going to lie, this appeals a great deal to my natural laziness, and I like cat ears.
I checked and it’s currently on a Japan only release for around $200 but I suppose we’ll see what the open water pricing is once it hits stores.
All in all I probably don’t need it either way, but I liked the demo.
It’s a box of midi chord packs!
It’s got a cat in the name, so that’s cool. I think @Kegeratorz and @Juniper_Steels like cats, so maybe this is for them too?
Cats confirmed!
Looks like a Roland Aira j-6 on serious steroids.
So AlphaTheta broke off from Pioneer or something? What’s the history there?
…a few years ago, i would have given a lot for getting my hands on something like this…
but bitwigs note/chord options and scaler 2 soon to be 3 made everthing in this direction totally obsolete for me eversince…
Might be available from G4M in the coming months:
Seems they’re targeting a price of $250 outside of Japan.
Pioneer DJ broke off from Pioneer in 2014, then in 2020 renamed to AlphaTheta.
Looking as good as i’d hoped. I sold my Kordbot early waiting for this, but in all honesty I never found the Kordbot inspiring, so never used it more than 2 or 3 times.
This looks much more fluid, better built and more logically thought out as well as having some extra goodies.
C’mon Toraiz, distribute this worldwide, please!
All the text is in English too, so this is definitely going beyond Japan, otherwise, why not stick to the native language.
I would imagine it is, otherwise they wouldn’t have presented it at NAAM
I like the Chord Cruiser feature. I don’t think the Aira Compact J6 has it.
I do appreciate however the reminder to have a play with Scaler 2, which I bought a few months ago but haven’t fired up yet.
I never get much out of chord features or “make chords for you” devices but this thing is actually kind of intriguing.
really cool industrial design, ticks off the boxes for us symmetrically inclined haha
