Recreating the drone techniques of @OscillatorSink on the DNII:
His original video is at:
First decent tracks on DN2, loving it so far.
My favorite jam on DN2 so far, but itās long, slow and evolving, so I donāt expect a lot of views on YouTube
Your track is great.
Finally got a couple of hours to sit with my DNII. Absolutely love it!!
Put this together on it tonight:
(Please forgive any rough mixing. Did it all on headphones in a semi-noisy room.)
(Apologies mods, I did try to fix the embedded orientationā¦.)
Digitone 2 only tech track made on a trip to Canada. The mixing may be so-so.
One more Digitone II only track for this weekend.
thanks!
Donāt know why I forgot to post this track in this thread.
Fuck yeah. Good stuff
I have re-recorded my preset track. Feels better this way.
Had this in mind, got it in the box raw, quick & dirty.
Love this instrument.
I have a few FX behind though (CXM1978, GenLoss2) ā itās not absolutely pure DNII.
For me the external FX are a bit insistent. Have you tried a version with just DN2ās FX?
I donāt see what you mean exactly.
I feel like I know them pretty well, they are reliable to me, always the same FX and parameters.
But I like my FX chain for the dirt it adds.
Itās okay, if this is the sound you want, then what I think does not matter. For me, the synthetic tail of the reverb is prominent. I mean, all digital effects are synthetic, but some sound more artificial than others. I tend to gravitate to more subtle effects, especially when the sound source is of high quality (and have spent money in search of same). I would use more prominent effects with something like the Model:Cycles or Microfreak, which need a lot of help. But this is purely a personal choice, and I should emphasize that I like the structure of this track a lot. I guess I think it doesnāt need as much post-processing, and keeping it within DN2 is one way of restricting that. I have a lot of apps and some boxes/modules that tend to dominate their provided sounds, so this is a very personal reaction, to be taken into consideration or ignored as you see fit.
Oh, I see.
Guess I should try to make a DNII only version indeed. Would fit this thread better.
Having been playing noise music for a few years certainly left a mark, I embrace glitches and raw ^^
But a friend of mine often tells me I should take this more seriously and aim at the next level.
Btw there was no post-processing, this is one take.
