My syntakt has a random blue light on my mute page. Any reason for this? I usually have all purple lights for mutes
The red part of the RGB LED might have burnt out. First, if you haven’t already, turn it off for 30 seconds, and when it comes back up if the light is still out power it back off and enter into test mode by powering on while holding down the func key.
When the pre-boot menu comes up, run the error test and then when it finishes, just start pressing buttons and they should register key presses on the screen.
Trig 1 and 2 make the screen all yellow or all black, that’s normal. Trigs 3, 4 and 5 respectively (when held down) will illuminate all the red, all the blue, or all the green lights on the control panel. If you hold down all 3 together everything should light up white.
So, if you hold down one of them (probably red) and that one trig still appears as blue or green or something then the red probably burnt out.
Requires soldering to replace the part, elektron can do it for you or you can buy the part and do it yourself, the whole button is a combo and the light is a part of it. Hopefully this is not it, and you can always just cope with not having that one color on that one trig but still kind of annoying.
Best case scenario you turn it off and the light comes back on, worst case you need to send it in and have a button replaced. If it’s still within 3 years warranty they’ll do it for free. Lot to process but all pretty simple in practice as far as figuring out the culprit.
If for some reason all trigs alight their proper colors in test mode,
then there is something outside the scope of normal going on. If all the other unmuted trigs are purple, none of them should be blue. Anyways, good luck.
The reason I keep coming back to red is red and blue make purple, and if you see blue, it’s probably trying to make purple.
I presume doing the re boot test with fuction key held down it doesn’t affect any saved projects etc?
Nope. Your fine
Just don’t do factory reset sort of things.
Checking keys and encoders is fine.
I’d check your warranty , my digitakt recently when quite wrong in terms of led … I don’t think it’s the specific trig , it’s a bigger issue with the controller board ( though I’m just guessing )
They were released in 2022 with a 3 yr warranty so you could be covered.
Looks like the trig key needs soldering I reckon. Did the test.
Awwww craaaaap!!! Have had my Syntakt for 6 months, loving every second, and today… I received my Digitone 2 and have been using it for 5 hours and… voila!!! My syntakt’s 13 trig is blue all the time. I put it in self test mode, and yup ------ the red LED is burned out.
