I want to be more aware of happenings related to electronic and experimental music in the region. I’m in Los Angeles, but I see no reason to restrict to just LA. Let’s cast the net from San Luis Obispo to San Diego and everything in between.
New venue opening? Festival just announced? Awesome store having an event? Post it!
I’ll kick things off. Back in April I went to this awesome producer open mic called Beats Freaks Geeks in Studio City, Los Angeles. It had an emphasis on hip hop production. Lots of MPCs and SP-404s. Unfortunately the bar it was hosted at closed so they’ve been dormant for a bit, but looks like they’re coming back by hosting the Lo_Fi Festival. Sounds sick. https://lofi-festival.com

Oh sick, didn’t know about that one! I’m going to the ACFC game that night but I’ll be to a future one for sure.
