As someone who is going, I am interested in what people on here would go and see if they were/are going.
I’ve worked at Glastonbury but never been as a punter. I’d probably choose to just wing it, rather than having a detailed itinerary planned. Maybe just select a few must-see artists, otherwise go with the flow, absorb the atmosphere and remember to pace yourself. Have fun and stay hydrated!
Probably one of the dance tents , i doubt I’d watch any on the big stages. … certainly not dua lipa or Coldplay
I typically watch it on bbc every year , wearing out my remote control batteries.
I would also wing it… but here’s my “ooh” list:
LCD Soundsystem, Little Sims, Femi Kuti, Janelle Monae, The Skatalites, Matthew Halsal, Jamie XX, Sleeford Mods, Orbital (but would skip for a clash cos I’ve seen them so much), Bob Vylan, Amalie Lens, ShyFX, Skream & Benga, Goldie & Doc Scott, DJ Rap, Tim Reaper…
Well, I’m not going. But it was fun to daydream…
Having been to Glastonbury many times, I would say this is the way. That said I’d probably try to catch Nia Archives and then Justice on the West Holts stage on Sunday night, Saturday night at Woodies looks pretty good (yard act, Sleaford Mods, Gossip). Late Friday night I would probably look to spend quite a bit of time at Temple for the Rinse 30th anniversary thing (Sammy Virji B2B with DJ EZ especially). the Arcadia stage is always fun! Enjoy!
Ridiculous line up.

Just go bananas
This year’s Kim Gordon album of industrial hip hop beats plus the perfect spoken delivery is one of the greatest of the year and will be amazingly fun to see live. Long time Sonic Youth fan but this record totally surprised me.
On the totally other end of things Mdou Moctar will put on an amazing show as the albums seem like pretty much live shows full of the best playing and energy.
Femi kuti was amazing. His son came on and did some circular breathing technique to drone for a few minutes. Best musical family ever?
PJ Harvey was fantastic real command of the stage, not playing any hits. In fact it has been a great festival for female performers. Otoboke Beaver, Arooj Aftab, Asha Puthli. All been really funny.
Cyndi Lauper was completely wrecked at 70 something. After the first song she mumbled something like,“that proves I’m still a wanker for any who thought otherwise.” Whatever that meant. Played a recorder solo. Tore it up.
No one mentioned Michael Kiwanuka. I challenge anyone on this forum to watch this and not get GAS:
He had some really nice Prophets, Mellotron on stage. Seems he might be sponsored by Gibson as they seemed to only play SGs as a band and the guitarist had just locked away the vibrola arm.
No one mentioned Faithless, but they did an amazing version of insomnia.
There’s a lot of pop stars using a lot of vocal processing / miming … and a lot of auto tune on some male rap / afrobeat artists.
Orbital was fun , the Mel C guest spot worked well
Disclosure we’re ok I guess … they play along to their tracks , no surprises from what I heard.
I heard one female act , very generic/ pop based drum n bass … nothing unique in terms of beats but the audience liked it.
LCD soundsystem seemed good , live electronics and live drummer … some good songs. …
Watched her set on bbc iPlayer. Cant believe she is 71! Crazy!!!
She demolishes any argument that you can’t make thrilling, cutting edge music at any age. It’s one of the most modern sounding records of the year. Love it. Need to watch her set too.
