Analog heat or rytm compressor

Hello every one
for you is it better to use the heat at the end of the signal chain or the rytm compressor distortion wich is also analog…
In fact i am going to go back making music with elektron gear but i want to keep it simple just for fun and now i am digitakt 2 and analog heat to get the analog sound for the low end or Rytm mk1 and octatrack mk1…
Tell me what you think
cheers

8 individual outputs from rytm into desk with decent eq

i will be overbridge
i had a big set up when i was younger octa mk2 tanzbar machinedrum slim phatty juno2 A4 and a qu SB for all
i just want to have fun but properly and why not making finished tracks but with overbridge…

fair enough - just pan everything hard left and right to get out of the boxy sound

I’m really cluess and agnostic with these things but the Rytm compressor sure slaps hard, plus the analog drive and filters. The compressor in OT is also really nice imo. Both of these together would be more than enough, maybe Rytm is enough already. DT II also has a compressor, although it’s digital, but it now has more settings. If you’re using OB anyways, DT II plus a plugin for compression/warmth could also be sufficient.

I’d decide based on what workflow you prefer (fast workflow of a digi with a bit crammed controls vs. deep but more prepared workflow of flagships with more knobs/controls, outputs) rather than the compression.

Thanks for the answer now with an external midi device and the aftertouch and breath control it’s like the perf mode on the rytm so i think now controls are deeper with digiII and the choice of tracks for control all in fact i think my real question is will the analog heat replace the warmth of an analog kick and bass…

what do you mean by this? is this an overbridge thing?

yes

using overbridge in my experience mk1 needs a bit more work using panning and eq shelving and compression to sounds amazing, mk2 sounds amazing straight away!
