Very interesting looking pin matrix analog synth for soundscapes etc.
Hardware and concept are very intriguing.

I thought this forum would be all over this, so when I tried the prototype at Superbooth today I didn’t take any pictures or do any recordings.
It blew my mind…
I’m not one for drone machines generally, or at least I thought so, but I just couldn’t put it down. It’s a very simple architecture, but the sound of the oscillators, interacting with each other, is great. The filter sounded great too and the delay as well, based on the settings I was listening to. The pin matrix is a beauty to behold and everything felt really nicely crafted.
The developer I spoke to seemed appreciative of feedback as I react to my initial experience, and I got a sense they will do a very good job on this product.
EDIT: Just realized that this going out as a Kickstarter campaign, and as someone who has gotten sorely disappointed before, my above praise should not be confused with an encouragement to join the KS.
One of my favorite things from this years SB
Very very cool. I’ve never seen the pin sort of patching before.
Would be nice if when connected to a keyboard it could at least be paraphonic essentially making it a 5 voice with 1 osc per voice instead of just monophonic.
Jealous
Looks and sounds beautiful. Just when I’m satisfied with my setup… Inevitable, forever rotation
Its cool. I want it. But what a weird name.
I think that is what is being indicated in the Sonic State video, that the voices can be together or separated and controlled separately.
Hard to talk about the features, as this is still in a very fluid development state still, despite the look of the prototype. They are still adding another filter, and the pin matrix is expanding as for instance.
I have a lot of opinions. Played it twice at SB. I think the Sonicstate video did it no justice but my overall thoughts on the synth are positive. Like you said they were there actively looking for feedback and opinions and I gave mine as well like a magnetic tray or holder for the pins. They are planning to include a bag with it. The see through front panel will remain in the final design because they are fans of that kind of circuit board view (so am I).
When kickstarter begins it will be 790€ for early backers and then afterwards they still want to keep it under 1000€. It’s also a fairly heavy synth. The sides and bottom are metal.
There are some aspects I am skeptical of, but I don’t think I will voice them here at this point in time. I don’t want to misconstrue what may actively be changed since this is a prototype. But it’s a very close to launch prototype as my understanding if they want to start selling in spring next year.
Could be tragic without a DeckSaver for that seemingly acrylic surface. Would not be good in the used market in the wrong hands.
Or accidental cleaning with acetone.
Am I right in thinking the pin matrix is just for modulation signals and not for and audio routing shenanigans or AM FM modulations? …don’t get me wrong it does seem quite cool but coming from something like a synthi where 90% of the magic is in audio feedback, AM FM modulations and ringmod it feels weird to see a pin matrix just for routing 2 lfos a random and an envelope follower.
Still seems quite cool but yeah I kind of don’t fully get using a pin matrix unless you are going all out.
Very interested in this one!!
More details on pricing:
That’s a far smaller early backer group than I was expecting. Probably going to be in the 990€ territory almost immediately.
I have button ready for the first 15. As soon as its launched i reckon ill have a 10 second window. My army training will come in handy.
Kickstarter campaign is live now, but all the early backer prices are gone already:
funded in 4 minutes…haha
congrats to the team, looking forward to seeing what this becomes over the course of development
Was going to do it but then i had a thought. If i import from France i have to pay £225 import fees to Uk. But if i order from Thomann i pay no import fees. So by backing early bird i’m losing out. Just a thought to put me off.
I had the same thought…€60 to ship to Japan plus import fees, I’m not expecting to die soon and can wait until it’s eventually available somewhere here. Will eventually pick one up though unless gas dissipates after more demos come out.
Question to anyone that had the pleasure of playing one at SB, how do the faders feel? I really like faders but I’ve had some gear in the past where they felt very uncomfortable and not fun to play with. These look solid but never can say without trying…
