Oh yes, when you use DT2 while uploading, it kind of freeze.
From what I’ve seen, it recovers at some point, but it’s very slow.
So yeah: DO NOT TOUCH THE DT WHILE UPLOADING!

Since these oddly-behaving files were loaded onto the filesystem with Transfer, I guess this must be a transfer bug ?
Maybe Transfer does additionally some hash code calculation
I recognized this too, while loading the megabig demo project that comes with it.
while the wheel is spinning dont touchy touchy.
I got an exception looking like excel on the screen. I rebooted and let it load, after that i loaded an empty project and it never happened again.
Don’t touch it if it’s loading. Its a mimose.
Hi. Wanted to add this here in addition to submitting a support ticket.
AR MK2 GRY (1.70) - Does not connect via transfer 1.8.6
I was transferring samples this morning using 1.6.7. First folder of samples transferred great. Second folder crashed. I checked the support site and noticed that there was a newer version (1.8.6).
I updated the transfer app using Mac Sonoma 14.4.1, hoping this was just a version issue. Tried transferring again using 1.8.6 and it no longer connects.
Checked the forum/post here and followed some of the suggestions.
AF MK2 GRY (1.51), DT (1.5), AHFX (1.01) connect great.
Connected with both the Overhub USB and USB to USBC adapter methods, using new cables.
@Riuozami You mentioned you had success transferring to your AR MK2.
Am I missing something here? Hopefully this info helps to find a solution.
Appreciate it and thanks in advance!
Yes it worked for me
Having said that i had connection issues with 1.70
I solved them by restarting the laptop
Good to know about 1.70. I just bought a used AR MK2, so I’m still new to the 1.70 updates.
Tried restarting my computer but no luck. Maybe it’s the unit itself? Not sure. I submitted a support ticket. I’ll follow up here with any updates.
I’ll keep following the thread for more suggestions. Thanks @Riuozami appreciate the quick response!
I will try again tonight and report back
I thought I should post here that I was having major issues uploading samples with Transfer, but I got past the issues. When I got it, I merely put it in place of the DT V1, hooked up midi i/o usb (through a hub w/all other Elektron devices) & power that were already in place. I had major issues trying to get more than a couple of samples to transfer at once -computer & DTII restarts aplenty just to get going again… Then I decided to hook it up with the PSU/usb cable sent with the unit, directly into my mac (via usb-a to usb-c adapter). Now it’s transferring without seizing up, but slowly.
Really hoping to be a part of the OB beta testers, as I have a complex system, and I do studio tech & design work (and session engineering), and I feel qualified. This issue is of particular importance to me, as I like to run OB on all possible devices, and I’m interested in why the use of a USB hub (or something connected to it) is causing a transfer issue even though I plugged it into the same hub as my DN, A4 & ST.
Using transfer to backup my digi 2 I’ve gotten a few errors. The bulk came from my digi 1 and have a special symbol to the left of them indicating that but they won’t load to my pc.
The other is a new digi 2 session that is bugging out because of a sample.
Somehow, this info didn’t get to me. I thought it was still 48-16. Thanks for the reminder.
I’m noticing that if Ableton Live is open first, the Transfer app doesn’t work, it won’t be able to connect to my device. If I close Ableton Live and re-open Transfer, now it works.
Same, is there an updated spec? I’ve been cratedigging lately and recording into 48-16 for minimal conversion so if I can get the extra range why not.
I found it in the Technical Information section.
HARDWARE
128 × 64 pixel OLED screen
MIDI In/Out/Thru with DIN Sync out
2 × 1/4” impedance balanced audio out jacks
2 × 1/4” balanced audio in jacks
1 × 1/4” stereo headphone jack
48 kHz, 24-bit D/A and A/D converters
Hi-speed USB 2.0 port
Power inlet: Center positive 5.5 × 2.5 mm barrel jack,
12 V DC, 1 A
So, it’s still 48-16? The converters are irrelevant on this matter?
These converters are for analog/digital conversion so for sampling and audio in I guess, but apparently not for sample transfer.
Yeah, 24 bit is the D/A and A/D conversion, someone mentioned the Digitone engine running internally in 32 bit , 96khz, with interpolation and some oversampling.
But the file format standardized around would be 16 bit 48kHz.
A little confusing but optimizing for excellent quality realtime rendering, import and export while keeping memory manageable for large projects.
same here, it’s Digitone I stuff that gives me this message …
opening and saving on the DNII makes them work
Oddly, that’s currently the expected behaviour. Transferring DN/DT1 presets/projects to the DN/DT2 works fine, but if you then attempt to transfer those DN/DT1 presets/projects back to the computer from the DN/DT2, they’ll fail. As you say, you need to resave them as DT/DN2 files on the device before transferring will work.
