I wonder then if they can do more analog modelling on the digital side? As well as just generally other types of models? I wish the digital machines had more flavors of drum options, especially for BD and SD, and the fact they take up 8 of the 12 tracks. I generally find myself using drums more on the analog tracks but that is a lot more limiting obviously, so I am hoping in a firmware update there would be a way to bring some more flavors and spices to the 8 digital tracks. But I don’t know much about how that works and what is possible from a software side.
Also wondering if “modelled” filters from the analog side could be added to digital using firmware. Bandpass, notch, shelves would all be nice to have for digital too.
As an aside feature request which I’ve seen others say, +1 for compressor and chorus to be added to FX which could be used on an individual track basis.
Copy that, will do. Wasn’t aware of the protocol, as some tech companies and developers do their feature requests via a public forum such as this. I’ll email that address with my requests. Cheers
I dont see new filter types being an impossibility. They could just add more types to the filter list, wouldn’t require any UI overhauls really. But will they do it…
I’m slowly realizing how much I miss the Syntakt. If you’re thinking about selling it in favor of DN2, the DN2 can sonically reproduce most of it (except for FX track obv.), but it can’t reproduce the awesome immediacy of it. Pretty sure they go really well together. If there’s not a ST2 in May I’m gonna have to buy the first one again…
Thankfully Elektron just confirmed on Instagram, that there is no Syntakt 2 or MK2 planned at the moment.
Instead it sounded that Syntakt is not over yet…sounds good to my ears.
Which makes perfect sense in the end. For those still hesitating to get one, just go for it! It’s a real pleasure to use. The approach is different from the DN II, and while the workflow and sound palette could still improve, it’s already a solid machine. With this announcement, there’s no doubt Elektron will keep pushing it even further
That’s good news! There’s still a lot of life left in the current Syntakt, space for machines to add, and exterior design wise it blends with the DT2/DN2 nicely.
