Edit: I totally miss it…this is for DT2… I thought this was for Syntakt’s.
happened to me today. what a bummer!!!
Unfortunately this just happened to my DTII too…
Does anyone know if elektron has confirmed if this is a hardware or firmware issue?
Hello everyone, I have the same problem, I barely used it and there’s still plastic on the screen. It’s so disappointing…! Perhaps this subject should be renamed or this specific issue moved to another topic ?
Everyone with the screen issue might want to report it in the digitakt 2 bug thread
It seems like this problem might deserve more attention than it’s currently receiving and should probably be addressed by elektron
Mine was wk17 and 2 weeks after I received it with very little use. My replacement (wk19) has been fine since I received it.
I haven’t used mine all that much yet, maybe 3-4 hours over two weeks. Screen is still working fine. Same manufacture week as yours.
Fingers crossed!
i’ve sent it for screen replacement, unfortunately that’s the only solution but Elektron was very quick to repair
How easy it is to replace the screen at home?
I don’t recommend doing it yourself, you’ll lose the warranty. The Elektron team handles the screen replacement for this issue. You need to open a support ticket, and they send you a prepaid label to return your Digitakt for the defective part replacement.
Hello, I received my Digitakt Mk2 with the new screen today. The whole process took ten days. Thanks to the Elektron support team. Everything was handled well, so don’t worry and contact support if you have this screen issue. Cheers!
Wow, seeing so many people having this issue is very concerning. No way I would be ok with regularly sending my device for repairs. Totally killed my hype for a new digitakt.
In fact I’m not going to buy a DT2 until Elektron (hopefully) resolves this manufacturing issue and puts out a statement so I know which batch to buy.
I have it too!! what did E say about it?
Elektron said it was a bad component in their white screens… so the digitakt 2 & syntakt… they said I could send it in to be repaired or get a replacement from the distributor… I opted to get a replacement from the distributor I bought it from (sweetwater) because that was alot quicker… Elektron did say if I get a replacement unit from the distributor it could possibly have the same issue… fortunately my replacement unit has worked great so far, no problems. I have been using it for probably 8 hours a week for a few months now… whatever you decide to do, good luck. Let us know how it turns out!
Good job you wouldn’t have to - the small amount of affected units only need to be sent to Elektron once per-person.
So they know for sure the replacements screens cant fail too?.
