Groc from Oddment Audio ( Granular Synth )

Really liking some of the sounds I’m hearing in these demos, seems like it’s going to be a very interesting and capable little device. The wavetable-esque stuff is nice.

Should be at Superbooth apparently.

Someone used my last name for their synth… Should I ask for some perks?

Definitely reach out for legal representation!!!

Perfect job for Jackie Chiles!

The granular processing sounds great, but everything seems to be mono… does it keep the stereo field of the recorded samples when processing? And can the grains themselves be panned?

Pre-orders now open, $795 is the price -

^ I think this is the first walkthrough with narration, going from a basic sample and building a sound from some of the parameters. Worth a watch if you’re curious about how the synth works.

More inroductions to what Groc is all about. ( Five minutes.)

View this video more as wandering swiftly through a world of features, as opposed to the more directed process you might follow creating your own music.

There is another longer video on the basics ( and history ) of granular pitch shifting on the Groc. Really shows what control over the elemental detail of the process this synth has. It will not be the sort of thing everyone needs, but for those who want this, Groc has it.

They have moved on from prototype systems, and are now on to their pre-production hardware. This will allow them to produce more units for all of those signed up to beta test this synth.

They put out a very short video that shows the iteration of development systems they went through to develop this hardware. Aren’t we glad they decided against a circular display.

They also make a very very short demo showing ( at a distance ) the newly developed time-frequency visual display.

That gives a general picture of about where they are in the development of this synth.
