Korg nts-3 kaoss pad

OK that’s interesting indeed. 4 effects at once and the possibility to roll your own. I’ve been wishing for something like this for a long time.

$169 on sweetwater.

And the sync can be swapped for midi.

The Kaoss effects sound really dated to me, I remember playing with them 15 or so years ago. That said, at $170 with the SDK this could be a great little FX box once Sinevibes and others make some plugins

Rawr! All i have to say

You mean the effects on the old boxes or is there and audio demo of this new one?

Badass.

Yep the classic Kaoss effects are dated, so is the sound of the Tubescreamer guitar pedal and you don’t hear people complaining. In any case, this is using SDK so a lot more possibilities just opened up.

The KP3 is a gorgeous piece of kit which can do so much via the editor, but is somewhat hamstrung in that regard due to the editor being a complete PITA to use. I hope this new slice of Kaoss has a more user-friendly editor.

It’s nice to see Korg finally using USB-C

I’ve actually created my own kaoss-like pad for my op-z using the master filter and module track and a Korg nanokey studio which has an x-y pad.

But this unit would offer a lot more. I like the looper demo. Very tempting to get one in the future.

Ok,

Im pretty stoked for This. It will sit at the end of my modular as a master effec.

and, it so cool that Korg have added the 3D data so that people can customize their kit. I will definetly make something from that.

Stay tuned!

NTL the OP-Z filter is VERY unique. I’ve never heard a filter break up the way it does when you crank the filter and start sweeping the frequency

Nice this looks like a cool thing to have and use with jamming for some spice

Instant buy for me! Great price for this kit :relaxed:

I just hope USB C means it has a bit more power to push a bit more volume than the og NTS-1… didn’t love the fact that I had to give up a stereo mixer channel to gain it back to somewhat usable fx levels.

Finally a decent FX box in a compact unit! It’s bit disappointing though that it doesn’t have the FX from the nts1 mk2, but it has presets and 4 FX. No midi in for sync, that’s a bummer also. Will have to wait for proper demo on individual sounds

It was stated a few post up that you can swap sync
for midi. This is from Sweetwaters product page

“ * Comprehensive connectivity options include 2 x 3.5mm I/O pairs: 1 for audio and 1 switchable between Sync and MIDI”
