I went down a rabbit hole listening to that guy on YouTube the other day. I was looking up disco beats trying to get inspired to take something so simple and add some secret sauce. His video playing disco was exactly what I needed. Not just for disco, but for all my drum tracks. He’s exact what I like about drums. Provide exactly what the track needs, leave room for other instruments to shine, and fill the pocket with style. :drum::metal:t2:

Can’t believe no one else agreed with you. Robert Hood is an evergreen artist for me. He has his own unmistakable sound, which isn’t true for most techno producers. Just played a couple of his tracks last night at a gig and the dance floor definitely felt them.

Heard the news yesterday and was saddened, although 83 is not a bad age to go.
What’s to me remarkable is how recognizable that song is. I feel like most of the western world, and much of the east knows that song. Quite the achievement, but then again it’s Stan Getz and the Gilberto’s, (who are more or less music royalty in Brasil), and even though that little group didnt write the song, they certainly made it timeless. Supposedly it ls the 2nd most recorded song in history too, with only The Beatle’s “Tomorrow” coming before it (a supposed stat that also blew my mind).
