how do you sequence your melodic stuff? Onboard sequencers or do you use something as brain?

Simple, I hit record on the sequencer and play in melodies on my keyboard. Or, I play what ever part and record it as a sample.
(Octatrack as sequencer for all analogue synths in the list above. Digitone as sequencer for all digitone parts, TR-8S sequences drums)
