See this topic as a combination of all Elektron-gear topics. The MPC is everything now: sampler, drum machine, synthesizer, distortion unit, DAW , and so on…

You will find here anything from 'what’s next from Akai ’ to all sorts of stuff in between… In my opinion the MPC is the ā€˜general purpose unit’ of our time

Not sure I like the undertone of this post. Plenty of valuable workflow sharing, great tips and advice, discussion about current implementation and future direction…

Ignoring the non-Elektronaut vibe of your post… you’re asking this question when there’s a lot of movement in the Akai and MPC world.

It’s not a toy by any means, it’s one of the few fully standalone music workstations on the market, and it’s a vast eco system.

There’s tons of info and help about using it here, and that’s what the search function is for.

At this point, the MPC thread on Elektronauts would/could justify having its own dedicated area, as it’s bigger than a thread at this point, and full of unique Elektron user perspectives on it.

Wow so edgy, this toy is my main instrument and daw, center space on my desk as it has to look cool during my Teams call for my day job, so I can show my colleagues that this ex punk is true to his hiphop legacy…

Or maybe, just maybe, a new big update has been announced so people are chomping at the bit to get any sort of info, which unfortunately only comes from shitty YTubers.

Last but not least, please go and listen to my latest release, all MPC ( and Koala), 8 beats of the most traditional Industrial LoFi, in the style of absolutely no one else!

I use a light paint brush to get some of it off. That’s inexpensive.

Vapid is a word only used by sophisticated Elektron aficionado’s to mask their jealousy.

I’m wondering what kind of format the plugins are in the MPC. What is the basic framework for the OS? Linux? Windows?

It’s Linux based…

Do you think a plugin-wraper could integrate vsts into the MPC?

A lot of the air plugins on mpc are ported vsts, I don’t see the the os being opened up to third party stuff unless it’s tightly controlled though…

I’m not sure being seen with such an unsophisticated bunch of toy users will garner any appreciation from the pinky-pointing Elektron button clackers.

ATTENTION MODS!!!

Can we please change the title of the MPC thread to ā€˜MPC Summer School’?

That sh!t’s radical.

I don’t get the salty attitude fella, looking back at some of your previous posts on this thread it seems to be a common denominator, why come and ruffle feathers if you don’t like the level of discourse? You don’t seem happy with either the mpc or us folks chatting about it, maybe you’d be better served just muting the thread…

I’m so glad someone here is just making some observations!

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m all out of troll food…

Anyway, I wish one these YouTubers would mention if the MIDI note off bugs is still there in 3.0.

I can hear dog whistles.

Anyway, I’ve seen this note of bug being mentioned but i don’t even know what it is. Can someone ELI5?

I suggested years ago. But this is too sticky for that.

is this a loaded question? but also if by toy you mean it’s fun to use, then that’s how instruments should be…but i don’t think you mean it in that way
